Life Transitions + Stress

Life is full of adjusting to changing circumstances, and sometimes the stress can get pretty overwhelming.  These are the life transition issues I often run into in my practice: moving to a new city, a break-up or divorce, a career change, becoming a parent or empty-nester, graduating college, just to name a few!

Here are some symptoms to look out for during a big transition or life-changing event.

  • Feeling sad, hopeless or not enjoying things you used to enjoy

  • Frequent crying

  • Worrying or feeling anxious, nervous, jittery or stressed out

  • Trouble sleeping

  • Lack of appetite

  • Difficulty concentrating

  • Feeling overwhelmed

  • Difficulty functioning in daily activities

  • Withdrawing from social supports

  • Avoiding important things such as going to work or paying bills

  • Suicidal thoughts or behavior

If you are experiencing any of these, reach out for support.  We will work on stress-management, decision-making strategies, and increasing self-care to get to a “new normal”.
